Last week we successfully migrated cpanel01 to new hardware and virtualized it in the process which went very smoothly aside from 2 hiccups from add-on software that didn't impact any websites but did cause some issues with e-mail and some non-essential features.

In addition to the migration of our cpanel01 server, we also had a lot of "fun" with our cpanel02 server which is becoming a very popular target for Denial of Service attacks. Of course, this comes with the territory so we've been spending a good portion of the week putting out fires. On Thursday, we installed an Apache replacement called LiteSpeed which is designed to handle layer 7 attacks better so we hope this will result in less fires to put out in the future. So far it's been handling things very well with only a minor issue with CloudFlare that was resolved today. We also implemented some new settings designed specifically for mitigating layer 7 attacks so we hope these do not impact normal usage.

As always, if you have any issues, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to contact us.
