We are ready to add our hardware firewall to our network after much testing. We are scheduling the addition for 6PM EST Tuesday (10/18/2011). We apologize for the lack of notice but we feel it is critical to add this as soon as possible to help mitigate current on-going attacks. There will be a brief network outage while we move 2 network ports on our switch but your VPSs will remain powered on and downtime should be limited to a few ping cycles.
In addition to our hardware firewall we have received a fresh block of IPv6 addresses! These are for testing only because we do not know how they will work with our new firewall and because we currently only have 1 network provider (Level3) with IPv6 support on our network so our IPv6 connectivity lacks redundancy until nLayer is configured to route IPv6 for our network (should be shortly but no ETA at this time). If you would like an IPv6 address for testing please open a ticket with our billing department and we will assign one to your VPS. We are currently working on our IPv6 policy and are not sure how many will be assigned to each VPS at this time so requests are limited to 1 IPv6 address at this time. Since these IPs are for testing only right now, we may remove the IPv6 address assigned to you if needed until we complete the testing phase.
Thank you.
