A few quick updates about our OpenVZ OS Templates:

  1. We have removed Debian 5 templates recently due to it being EOL (End Of Life) which means no security updates will be provided by the Debian team.
  2. We have removed all of the 64bit templates to make it easier to maintain the templates. The primary reason for needing a 64bit OS is the 3.5GB RAM limit of 32bit which is not a concern with our OpenVZ VPSs (limit of 256MB of RAM). If you need a 64bit OS, please open a ticket and we will consider adding it. Gentoo is the exception because a 32bit template was not available at the time.
  3. Scienctific Linux 6 added to our list of templates.
  4. Ubuntu 11.10 added to our list of templates.
  5. Fedora 15 has replaced Fedora 14.
  6. Debian 6 template has been updated to include valid repo sources for apt (prior version gave a 404 error with apt-get update command).
We will be working on building some custom OS Templates for our OpenVZ and Backup VPS clients (unfortunately we will not be making any custom OS Templates for Xen PV and will continue to purchase them as needed). Some custom templates will include:
  1. Basic LAMP setup.
  2. OpenVPN setup.
  3. FTP server.
  4. More control panels.

If you have any specific requests for templates, please open a ticket and we will look around and consider adding it if we can.
