Today at 1:15PM EST all of our OpenVZ 6 nodes were rebooted to apply the latest kernel that patches a newly released exploit that targets Intel processors. Normally a reboot is not required since we utilize KernelCare for rebootless kernel updates, but at the time the kernel was release no update was available and we decided to err on the side of caution and get our nodes patched immediately after a new kernel became available (roughly 12PM EST today). An e-mail was sent out prior to the reboots to all clients impacted by the reboots but we are putting out this announcement for the sake of transparency and to inform everybody that all services are back online at this time.
