Over this past weekend we have successfully migrated all of our OpenVZ nodes to CentOS 6 which provides some great improvements to our VPSs including increased disk I/O and better memory management. One of the biggest improvements is vSwap, so be sure to read up on it.
Unfortunately there is a minor side effect with the move from CentOS 5 to CentOS 6. We have noticed a drastic reduction in network speeds using the Cachefly benchmark test, but this can easily be fixed with a reboot from SolusVM. For more details about this, check out the KB article here.
In addition to the changes to our current nodes, we have 4 more OpenVZ nodes waiting to be powered on and we plan on taking one or two of them to play with and hope to have some exciting new services in the very near future. Stay tuned!
