We're happy to announce a lot of new things here at Secure Dragon. Here's some quick details about the changes already implemented and what's still yet to come.

New Plans and Pricing

We've crunched the numbers and found a way to lower our already affordable OpenVZ VPS prices without impacting any users. We've reduced the amount of bandwidth for all of our OpenVZ VPS plans to an amount that fits more than 90% of our current clients which will better allow us to manage our bandwidth for our servers and reduce the prices for our clients. We've also added 2 new OpenVZ plans, one with 1GB of RAM and the other with 2GB of RAM which are priced at $6.99/month and $9.99/month respectively. The plans are available at such amazing prices due to our newly purchased hardware which we will explain next.

For all current clients that wish to keep their old plan specs, you do not need to do anything. For all clients who wish to switch to the new plans and pricing, please open a ticket with our Billing department. Please note that not all prices have changed for all billing cycles.

New Servers

We've recently purchased some new hardware and have been testing it in our Denver data center. The new servers are as follows:
Dual Intel Xeon L5639 (12 Cores, 24 Threads @ 2.13GHz)
72GB DDR3 ECC RAM
4xSATA3 Drives in Hardware RAID10 w/1GB Cache and BBU (~500MB/s write speeds and ~10k IOPS)

We plan to purchase more of these this month for our Tampa data center as we see how well they perform in our Denver location.

All OpenVZ clients currently on node co1ovz01 will be migrated to the new server this weekend. An e-mail will be sent to all impacted clients regarding this migration.

New Locations

We are currently working out the specifics, but at this time we are making plans to ship servers to 2 new locations: Los Angeles, CA and Chicago, IL

The current plan is to have these locations online by next month with OpenVZ nodes ready to go. At this time KVM VPSs will be for our Tampa and Denver locations only with our Backup VPSs staying in Denver and our DDOS Protected VPSs staying in Portland.

New Control Panel

We are currently working on a new control panel to replace SolusVM since there have been a lot of negative news lately regarding that software and the licensing costs that we would save would increase our rate of expansion greatly. If you wish to read more about the project, we have created this website for the new panel since we will be releasing the software as FOSS (Free Open Source Software) once it nears completion: http://vpsm.net

The goal is to have an open source solution that we can customize to fit our client's needs. We will be putting the panel in our Client Area so clients no longer need 2 logins to manage their billing and servers. In addition to checking out the project's progress, you are welcome to join the forum and provide some feedback in addition to any requests you have as an end-user since you will be the ones using the software the most.
