Our router lost connectivity around 1:13AM EST and we were logged into it at 1:15AM troubleshooting the issue. It is unknown at this time but we have some logs that point to a possible problem with our redundant BGP peers that our router appeared to failover to. We have opened a ticket with our DC to double check the settings on their side to confirm this. Luckily our backup network was in place for us to resolve this without requiring the DC to get involved so our network was back online in 7 minutes.

We are continuing to work on building our fully redundant network to avoid such outages and have just ordered some new fiber cards for our routers (we're switching away from copper uplinks) and enough cables to fill up the cabinet. The next task on our list will be ordering new routers and switches.
