Effective immediately, the following changes have been made to our data backups:
  1. OpenVZ nodes in IL, CA, AZ, GA, OR, NJ, and TX are backed up locally twice a week and then backed up offsite once a week.
  2. OpenVZ nodes in CO are backed up locally twice a week and then backed up to another server in the same data center once a week.
  3. OpenVZ nodes in FL are backed up to another server in the same data center twice a week.
  4. KVM nodes in CO are backed up to another server in the same data center once a week.
  5. KVM nodes in FL have had backups suspended at this time while we find a suitable solution for backing up the large amount of data.
These changes were made to accomodate the large volume of data being backed up and because our previous backup solution encounted some issues in terms of restoration of complete VPSs. We are always looking for better methods of backing up our client's data but the cost of bandwidth and the sheer amount of storage required makes it a difficult task.
