Last night we spent a good portion of the night battling multiple large DDOS attacks against a specific client (depsite them having purchased a DDOS Protected IP and choosing not to use it) and after a few hours of mitigating the attacks, we felt the problem was resolved. About 30 minutes after we had logged off, the attacker began targetting our network and our automatic mitigation kicked in nullrouting the target IPs. At some point during the attack both of our routers ended up failing due to the size of the attacks. Upon waking up to find the network offline, we quickly restored the router configurations and brought the network back online.

After such an incident, we will be evaluting our current network and safeguards in place so that future instances resulting in extended downtime can be avoided. We will fully honor any SLA requests made to our Billing department. We are deeply sorry for the extended downtime and will work hard to make sure it never happens again.
