We are currently aware of the packet loss experienced in our NJ location that has been occurring off and on since yesterday. Our data center, along with others around the world, have been receiving massive DDoS attacks against their network equipment and are working at mitigating these attacks. We will provide more information when it becomes available.

Some information regarding the attacks are available here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1599421

Here is an update we received from our NJ data center:

SUMMARY
Just before midnight US eastern time, a large DDoS attack in excess of 300 Gbps began to affect performance in the New York Metro region. Engineers worked to block as many sources and targets of the activity as soon as possible. The cycle occurred a total of three times, ending just before 5am.

MITIGATION/PREVENTION
Efforts to improve capacity to mitigate attacks of ever-increasing size and intensity continue. We are also launching a new network status page and Twitter account to keep everyone updated during attacks, should the network become inundated in the future. A notice will go out to all accounts with details by September 28th.
