We will be converting our Chicago, IL. OpenVZ 6 server over to OpenVZ 7 on February 5th, 2021.

E-mail sent out to clients:

We are sending out this e-mail to inform you that we will be converting our OpenVZ 6 node in Chicago, IL. to a new OpenVZ 7 node which will require a small outage for your service(s) in this location. We will begin the process by migrating all of the current services to a temporary VPS node on February 5th, 2021 at 10PM EST which will result in an outage while your VPS is converted over to OpenVZ 7. Since this is a temporary node you may experience lower performance so we apologize in advance for this. Once all of the services are moved off of the current hardware we will be upgrading the server with the plans of moving all of the VPSes back the following night (02/06/2021) at 10PM EST. Since your VPS will already be converted to OpenVZ 7 the process should be much faster and only a reboot should be required. No action is required by you during this process and your IPs will stay the same.

Due to the incompatibility with OpenVZ 6 and OpenVZ 7 we will be disabling migrations within Wyvern until all of our nodes have been converted to OpenVZ 7. Additionally we will be disabling the Backup and Snapshot features inside of Wyvern as well as disable our weekly automated backups due to the lack of a native backup and restore tool for OpenVZ 7. We are looking into other solutions and hope to have a client maintainable backup option in the near future and will keep you updated once we have a good solution in place.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this outage and changes. Thank you.
