Here is a copy of our e-mail sent out to our current clients on August 19th:

You are receiving this e-mail because you have one or more services in our Tampa data center that will be impacted by an upcoming migration to a new data center. On August 31st we will be moving from our current data center (ESolutions/WoW) to a new data center less than 10 miles away. We will be moving into Hivelocity's newly built Tampa data center which provides us access to many new features and opportunities that will benefit all of our clients in our Tampa location.

In addition to extremely affordable bandwidth (which will allow us to offer services we previously wouldn't have been able to), we will also have basic DDoS protection included in all of our Tampa services for free as well as much better routing thanks to their seven different network providers (382Gbps of total network capacity) and their use of Noction's Intelligent Routing Platform. We've been testing their network for the past few weeks for performance and stability and both Tampa networks are performing almost identical with only a 1.9ms latency between the two.

We are scheduling this migration for an 8 hour window to allow us to physically move all of our equipment from our current data center to the new one. We are planning on starting close to 10AM EST on August 31st and hope to have all services back online and validated by no later than 6PM EST that day. We are scheduling this migration during the day so that the support personnel are available in both locations in the event we have issues with our hardware or network configurations. Actual travel time is less than 15 minutes during normal traffic so the majority of the time will be spent powering down, unracking the servers, racking the servers again, and then cabling everything up. We do not have an estimate on how long the outage will last but we will do our best to reduce the amount of downtime during this scheduled migration. We will be disabling migrations within Wyvern for our Tampa location on the 31st so if you wish to migrateyour service to another location to avoid downtime, please do so prior to the 31st.

We will post an announcement once we are ready to begin powering down all of the Tampa services and will provide updates via Twitter when possible. We will update the announcement once everything is powered up and validated. Response times to tickets may be limited while we focus on the migration. A very small selection of users will have their IP addresses changed during this migration which they will be informed about before the migration, but the other 99% of clients will not have any changes made to their services.

If you have any questions about this migration, feel free to open a ticket with our Support department and we will do our best to assist you. We appreciate the continued support of our clients and promise you that we're making this move to better service you, we would not be moving to this location if we had any concerns about the performance or stability of their infrastructure or if we felt our clients would be impacted negatively by this change. We made sure that the network and power were at least as good as what our clients have grown to expect from us and the added DDoS protection is the icing on the cake.

This announcement is being posted for new clients who did not receive the e-mail notification.
